Dj/Promoter/Producer from Prague, Czech Republic. Michal Schwa is the man behind Beef records and electronic duo Shades Of Gray. SOG debut album “Soul Machine” was included in top 50 albums of 2012 by Dj Mag and charted by many key players in the scene. Schwa is often performing in clubs like Chapeau Rouge Prague, Weekend Club Berlin and Chinese Laundry Sydney.

In 2000 Michal started performing publicly and since 2003 he has been working as a sound engineer at ORM Studio Prague. At the end of 2005 Schwa moved to Sydney and rapidly changed his style. The idea of an innovative techno/house label became reality and thus established the foundation for his own imprint “Beef Records.” Beef records has since then been slowly becoming highly respected label on the underground electronic scene with release from artists such as Glen Astro, Robert Babicz, Deepchild, Kreon, Nikola Gala, Jet Project, Arnaud Le Texier, Shur-i-kan, Pezzner, Mike Monday, Jori Hulkkonen, Jeff K, Smash TV and of course very own Shades of Gray.

In 2005, after moving to Australia, Michal met his studio partner Nick West. As Shades of Gray they quickly gained a reputation as one of the busiest acts on the Sydney underground scene. It wasn't long after that the boys were touring internationally performing from Tokyo to Moscow and London to Prague. In the few short years since that first connection in 2005, Shades Of Gray have made a huge impact o the house music scene; Ellen Allien, Shur-i-Kan, Miguel Migs, Luna City Express, Miss Kittin, Jimpster, Pezzner, Laurent Garnier, Smash TV and The Timewriter are just the tip of an iceberg of fans. Their work is getting regularly signed to labels including Audiomatique, Compost Black, Om Records, Dark Energy, Boxer, Tronicsole and Lost My Dog.

Shades Of Gray debut album ‘Soul Machine’ was critically acclaimed by the press receiving glowing reviews in DJ Mag and DeBug. ‘Soul Machine’ has been included in top 50 albums of 2012 by Dj Mag UK and tracks from the album have been licensed for OM records, Defected and Clubstar compilations.
Schwa’s sets are not strictly one style oriented; he covers all different aspects of quality electronic music. Schwa has performed at huge international festivals such as “Circoloco” (Sydney), “Open Air Field” (Czech Republic),”Machac” (Czech), “Parihaka” (New Zealand), “No Mans Land Festival” (Hungary), “Rainbow Serpent” (Australia), “Earthcore Carnival” (Australia), “Good Vibrations” (Australia), Colours Of Ostrava (Czech) and while touring Asia Michal had a chance to perform at the biggest club in Japan – Ageha.
